04FAQ
Asked every week
Is the JR Pass still worth it?
For most 7-day itineraries since the 2023 price rise: no. We break down the maths, route by route, in the full guide.
Can I get a Suica through Visit Japan Web?
The Welcome Suica (for foreign visitors) is available at airport counters. Mobile Suica on iPhone is also worth setting up before you land.
How much cash do I need?
Cities are close to cashless, but small restaurants, shrine entries, and rural sights often still need cash. Keeping ¥5,000–10,000 in hand per day is a safe baseline.
