東京 — TŌKYŌ

A mega-city decoded through its stations. The rhythm of Tokyo starts on the platform — and everything else follows.

01Overview

Why Tokyo

Tokyo is not one city. It is a stack of villages glued together by trains — and once you understand that, everything else about the trip stops feeling overwhelming.

Our approach: pick two or three neighbourhoods, walk each one for a full afternoon, and let the trains connect them at the pace they were built for. The mega-city reveals itself in the smaller streets, not the famous crossings.
